Patience

She can be seen on the side of milk cartons quite frequently, 5’8 with fiery red hair, cold green eyes that cut you down should you cross them, a voice of an angel so long as she’s at ease or rest and a body that is seemingly harmless until the claws become unsheathed. Left alone, patience will be of no use, that’s probably why she is missing but once found she could also be the irksome thorn in your side in times of urgency. Hand in hand, holding ones time and caressing her needs however, with fair gratitude coupled with a steady mind and she is one of the single most ravishing objects entwined with human nature. Once mastered, as she is more than willing to be, the ravish of her beauty is only comparable with the strength of a phoenix taking you on a trip though the sun and bringing you home to the sanctum of your soul with more strength than imaginable. With Patience at your side, no task in life seems unbeatable as she will consistently undermine failure in holding a readied heart eager to learn the right path through to success.

Lacking patience is just a simple way to jump start an early demise as the most luscious aspects of life tend to need to be waited on in some form or fashion. Unfortunately, living in an age begging for constant instant gratification, we are wrought with failure only due to not being able to wait that little bit longer to better gratify a situation. From pushing to complete a task early and missing a key component to driving a spouse to finish getting ready to go at your pace and creating a rift; life is apt to prove the importance of patience daily. Acceptance then becomes a large piece of the puzzle of living in these moments as you must be able to accept your fault, accept the punishment and accept that you must learn to pry more patience to your daily life. Is life not too long to live with unnecessary self-caused heart aches?

Pause. Take pause and consider why you’re rushing to complete this point. Go back, go over it again. Did you really read the moments thoughts above or did your just glance at it as a placeholder of time you believe should be committed to another’s conceptions of life’s conundrums? Truly, this is what patience is, a stop and consideration. That is really it. Stop. Consider. Apply the right ethos to the moment and then act. As Stephen Covey describes, “Integrity in the moment of choice. Quality of life depends on what happens in the space between stimulus and response.” and this is the perfect definition of where patience must live; in that moment of space. Space between stimulus and response; the moment of when thought before application should be asserted and an instant of personal growth that will always lead to the more prosperous action. Stop and think. It is that simple.

We are all acted on constantly as days pass, with every choice we take leading to the next and the next and the next and forever more to completions end; whatever that may stem to end up being. However, acting in the space between the stimulus of the reaction of the last choice leading to the new fork ahead, a more educated and peaceful end will be met with patience holding your hand. Rushing through life is exciting, in fact it can be completely exhilarating however it misses a lot of the nuances of what makes life greatest. Being in a rush can and will stub your growth as key pieces of information will be missed like a family member’s birthday that could create so much unnecessary emotional harm. Should you be organized, view the earth as a training ground and take the chance to ascertain everything on offer; such an event would be mitigated, even met with a fresh picked bouquet grown in your soul and passed on through continued good will.

Patience, the fiery red head that all blame personal strife on when she really only has your best interests in mind. Patience to make the choice of integrity in the moment past stimulus, proliferating good will and the nurture of growth. Growth of personal diversification, nurturer of circles of influence and prosper of good will. Patience is not the enemy of the smart man, she is embodiment of the smart man’s best qualities and will only provide endless satisfactions to desires met with open arms. Take the time to learn patience, it may test your patience to realize that however it will also provide you with the patience to become the best you that you can be.
